Beijing Arrival Services:
Airport pickup
There will be somebody waiting for you at the airport to welcome you and escort you to your destination in a very clean and comfortable sedan, minivan, or bus (for groups).
Hotel/Hostelbooking
Many students come to Beijing without housing arranged ahead of time. This is normal and is generally not a problem. Our Man in Beijing can arrange for you to stay in a clean and affordable hostel or hotel near your school for a few days while you search for permanent housing.
Housing Assistance
Alot of students choose to live in apartments while studying in Beijing because of the affordability. Our Man in Beijing will accompany you to reliable real estate agents who will show you many apartments in the neighbourhood of your school. Rental contracts frequently are only written in Chinese, so we will assist you in checking and signing the lease. If you prefer a ‘home stay’ to an apartment or a dorm, we can work with local ‘home stay’ agencies to find you a great family.
NB: **Any pre-departure requirements can also be provided on arrival in Beijing. Just let us know beforehand.
Introduction to Beijing:
With the Intro to Beijing package a student will learn more in one day than most new students learn in a month.
This service supplies the student with a guide for one day (or more if required); an expat who has actually lived & studied in Beijing. This guide will take the student(s) out and assist them with:
- Opening up a Chinese bank account and exchanging currency
- Purchasing a public transportation card
- Showing how to ride the buses and subways, and explaining the main bus routes
- Purchasing a Chinese cell phone and SIM card
- Dining crash course: sitting down for a meal with the student and explaining the basics of ordering, paying, andwaiter/waitress interaction
Each student will be given a map of the city and receives a detailed introduction into each district. For example: where to go shopping, where the nice bar/restaurant areas are, major historical and cultural attractions, etc...
Each student will also be given a menu cheat sheet which has the Chinese, Pinyin, and English translation of some of the most popular Chinese dishes to help you order food in restaurants; an essential survival tool for the first month!

Travel
There will be opportunities for you to travel while you are studying here. Whether it is a weekend trip or a week-long trek, Our Man in Beijing can take all the planning and stress out of it so you can focus on your exams. When the time comes all you'll have to do is show up and enjoy the ride.
